More and faster trains promised (BBC News)
 
Rail passengers across Britain will benefit from almost 700 extra services on weekdays from next Monday, train operators say.

There are to be fewer trains stopping at Penrith soon.

"More and faster trains PROMISED"
Oh dear, that "promised" bit always worries me.

Absolutely true, this seems to be a problem all over the network, TOCs are presenting us with all of these mega fast services into London that don't stop anywhere along the route. Not all passengers want to travel in and out of London!

A few Ive picked up as seeing a massive decease:

EMT - anywhere south of Leicester (Kettering, Luton, Wellingborough)
WCML - Nuneaton, Tamworth, Litchfield.

How can they say that services are improving if you live in these areas? Bit of a joke, and the TOCs will get the blame for it even though they don't set the service patterns.
