Hello, and I hope I came to the right place
Hello! I joined this forum because I am very interested in transit.
I hope this is the right forum. I am perhaps not a railfan in the conventional sense, I don't really know a lot about trains from the technical side. I am more interested in how transit (including trains) connects communities, and what the passenger experience is. There are two things I think I can contribute: First, in 2014, I took a 30 day Amtrak railpass trip around the United States, managing to ride most of Amtrak's main lines, in a 30 day period. I wanted to describe how the Amtrak railpass system works, and also give a summary of my trip. Also, although I am from the United States, I have been living in Chile for the past three years, so I wanted to post about the Santiago Metro! Its a pretty large and interesting Metro system, but because Santiago isn't Tokyo or Paris, its not very well known. So those are the two posts I want to make! I am just waiting to lurk a little bit first. I have also visited lots of US cities and ridden several different mass transit/light rail systems, I might work a little bit of that into here, as well. |
Welcome to the forum mnharris, it will be good to hear more of your travel adventures.

Hello mnharris and welcome to the Railway Forum.

I posted the first of my posts, in the passenger rail section.
I hope people will find it interesting! Next is to write about the Santiago Metro! |
