S & C landslide
 

A landslide at Dent has closed the Settle to Carlisle line.

I think yesterday's return Dalesman got as far as Kirkby Stephen and then had to go back to Carlisle, before returning to York via the WCML to Carnforth, and then Hellifield. The train apparently arrived at York nearly 3 & a half hours late at 1.18 am.

Evening Tony, a lot of rain as come down in the last couple of days and caused a lot of transport problems. I wonder how long the S&C will be closed.

Hi Chris. I read this morning that most of the debris had been cleared and they were then waiting on an inspection, but they were quite hopeful of a swift reopening.
