This is a good place to start.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Rail_Class_77

also

http://www.lner.info/locos/Electric/em2.shtml

It makes me wonder how many people really know how to use internet search engines like Google.;)

I just typed in "class EM2 loco" and quite a lot came up.

I have to say I have a basic distrust of Wikipedia, it may be one stop of point in research, but I prefer to use more trusted sources, mainly book based. The INTERNET does not always provide the right answer! There is a lot of misinformation out there!

Best wishes,

John H-T.

Gray:Thank you for the above. Most helpful.

That's OK I have a database file which isn't complete ...yet
I'm trying to get a full record of all loco's and rolling stock from 1970 to present day

it's an Excel 2003 file - I am short of any Coaching lists and wagon lists but am slowly working through http://www.ltsv.com for the wagons and http://www.abrail.co.uk for coaches and multiple units

Got to agree John, wikipedia is only as acurate as the person who uploaded the information. It pays to check out with known facts. I too use books where I can to check info is correct.

Phil

Hey Phil
You got a library like me ;) trouble is stuff like this changes regularly and books don't keep up so I use a lot of different websites to correlate information before I use it.

Certainly agree with the Wickipedia comments.

Trouble is that it is used on so many different sites as factual.

It can be so misleading

Certainly cross referencing with web sites and books together should produce some degree of accuracy! I do continue to buy books full of facts written by known specialists in their respective fields for instance "Locomotives of the LNER" series by the RCTS are a prime example.

Phil
