Does anyone know the date of the next batch of CLASS 70S into Newport docks?

Have the next batch been ordered yet? I thought that Freightliner ordered 12 locos and had an option on the rest.

I`ve heard they are looking at Parachuting them directly into Midland Road at Leeds from C5 Galaxy Transport aircraft !! :)

well 70012 is going to be used as scrap and to maybe used to build other locos because it got dropped and its kinda broken can anyone give me any more information on what is happening with loco

Last I heard it was awaiting transportation back over the pond to it's makers.

Unidentified class 70 northbound through Stafford on a "proper" freightliner aroudn 1730 yesterday

70010 at Durham 8am Monday 28th on coal. First sighting for me of a "70" for ages

if so they could end up in woodlesford knowing americans

Back on topic, IIRC there should be 30 Cl70s once all of them are delivered, I think the order was orginally more, although I'm not to sure on how many have been delivered so far. (Correct me anyone)

The original order was for 30 Locomotives. Locomotives 70013 - 70020 are still due to be delivered this year. The fact 70012 was damaged will not affect Freightliner because that problem is between the Leasing Company and the Manufacturers. 70021 - 70030 are still on order but their construction is on hold due to the recession. Many Class 66's are going off lease with Freightliner, DRS due to the lack of work and others are being exported by DBS and Freightliner.
