Hi to you all.

Hi there. I have been a driver for 20 years and currently work for EWS. I have recently been chosen to train as a fireman for EWS's steam hauled services. So far I have had the pleasure of being on the test trip for 'Clan Line' and a VSOE steam hauled Kent lunch hauled by 'Tangmere'. I look forward to some interesting topics. Cheers and all the best.

Hi Syd
This is my first ever go at forums, so I apologise now if I get anything wrong. I will certainly try to post some photos in the future.
Cheers and all the best

hey - lets us know when you are riding and we will say Hello if we are there !!

frodofro 17th December 2006 21:35

Sure thing. They will probabley start the firemans course in the new year. The West Somerset Railway is the location that has been mentioned for a 2 week residential course. It maybe a while before I fire on the main, but will let you all know.

Is this the best way to show pics or should I set up a seperate gallery.
Cheers and all the best

Hi Chris welcome to the Forum, it's a nice friendly group, I'm sure you will enjoy joining in some of the various discussions. I see you've worked for 20 years on the railway so hopefully we may all benifit from your experence, I worked on BR as a fireman for nearly 10 years.
Cheers Alan Locojoe.

Great "insider" pictures Chris:)
This is an ideal way of displaying pictures of a particular event or subject. As the actual images are on Photobucket they will not slow down the thread in this forum.
However, If you want to, you could also use your free Railwayforum gallery space for more general pictures. The choice is yours, whatever is most convenient.

frodofro 17th December 2006 22:40

Hi Alan,
I may be in my 21st year but I learnt as i'm sure you did, that you never stop learning as a driver. The forth coming Firemans course will remind me of that very quickly i'm sure.

Hi David thanks for the welcome,
Just managed to get the small picture thing happening under my name. It's of 66058 which I had the pleasure of  spending 12 hours on whilst they relined part of Abbots Cliffe Tunnel between Folkstone and Dover.
I think I am slowly getting the hang of forums.
Is it okay to just butt in on any thread or forum or is there some special etiquette to it.
Cheers and all the best
Chris

No problems Chris. If you have something to say about a subject that's being discussed just say it !!!:D

DSY011 18th December 2006 22:44

Butt in whenever you like. I do, as do most of us here. The only etiquette here is we do not slag off any other mbr. It's railways we talk about, so if you have something to say on any subject on the forum, say it.
Syd
