Hi I'm Dean, massive railway enthusiast, living in Düsseldorf in Germany.

I grew up in Rugby, lived in Leeds and Amsterdam for a while and so have lived in some pretty good railway catchment areas.

My favourite trains are the german ICE3 - Siemens Velaro, the new 395 javelins, and, unlike others, pendolinos.

So i hope to make some good contributions, I'm a bit of an idealist (outside of work)

Hi and welcome aboard the forum, j0hn0. My favourite trains are the Eurostar (hence my username), the French TGVs, the new class 395 javelins. I am also into steam trains.

thankyou, I also like steam trains but not as a rule. I like engines like the "jubilees" and the "coronations" - LMS of course, but I am in awe of the brand new Tornado.

I actually prefer narrow gauge steam, like the beyer-garratts, NG15s and double fairlies because of the problem that they solve and the scenery they pass through.
