Hello chaps, please tell me what "wnxx" is ?

62440 14th July 2010 14:48

Certainly 48111. http://www.wnxx.com is a website run by enthusiasts listing all stored locos. wnxx is a operational group (pool) code used on the railways to denote that a (EWS) loco is stored unserviceable.
There are over 100 codes, qcar for example is Network Rail new measurement train class 43. ejlo is London Midland class 08.:( Loads more listed in the back of the spotting books.

Hope this helps, Regards, 62440.:D

As 48111 is an ex BR driver I should assume he will know what TOPS is ,I know he worked after the introduction of diesels so he was probably around with the introduction of TOPS.

48111 15th July 2010 09:20

Yes chaps, good morning, I do know about TOPS, but the site WNXX is what I did not know about.

But thank you very much, I will have a look and see if I can join.

Thanks again lads.
