Hello
Another Lancy lad here, brought up alongside the long gone Southport to Preston line, where I spent summer holidays waiting for excursions hauled by alien L N E R locos. I'm obviously an L M man , hence my user name. Why 46232? The fondest memory of my childhood was recieving the Hornby Dublo model of Duchess of Montrose when I was 7 or 8. I still have it today! The irony is that it was one of only two Duchesses that I never saw for real

Hi 46232, welcome to the forum, enjoy.
She was a great engine but not as regular as others through Leyland or down these parts of the woods. Regards Alan |
Hi 46232, Welcome to the forum. What do you make of the newly streamlined 'Duchess of Hamilton'?

Thanks everybody for the kind words, it is nice to be involved with forum that seems to be free of keyboard warriors. Only seen pictures of Duchess of Hamilton as yet Tony but she certainly looks well in her new clothes. She would look even better ascending Shap. We can but hope!!!

I'd settle for her passing along the Wigan - Lancaster stretch.

Welcome
