Hello from a Wiltshire train buff.

Hello to all, this is Geoff from Salisbury,Wiltshire. I've been interested in Railways all my life. I like steam, diesel and electric. I take loads of photoes and travel as much as I can on trains. Salisbury has a good variety of trains: class 59 and 66 work regular freight, we get steam railtours, pullman and plenty of passenger trains with 159 and 158 (shame its not the class 47, 50 and 33!!). I'm in the process of building a model railway with my wife, it's a case of jiggling it around the furnature, I think I need a spare room!! Next week I am going to get an 8 day freedom of south west rover and try to do every passenger line in Devon and Corwall so will let you know how I get on! Thanks Geoff!

Hi Geoff and welcome - you must be rare in having a wife (no name) who is the least bit interested in railways of any kind!

Geoff again!

Thank you all, yeh cant wait to go to the the West!! We are lucky to have plenty of HST diagrams in the area. I'm looking forward to doing the branch lines. I will depart salisbury every day. For the branches near Penzance I will be on the 06:08 from Salisbury (so extra ticket single to Exeter before rover kicks in at 09:00!) to Exeter on three of the days to make good time into Cornwall (lots coffee needed!). My wife likes trains so will be joining me on some of the trips!! :)
