Hello Squeaky88 welcome to the Railway Forum. Your favourite trains are the high speed ones, I like the small hard working locos. The class 03,04,08,09,14,15,&17's diesel and the small 0-4-0 & 0-6-0s in steam.

Hi Squeaky88. Welcome to the forum.

hey train fans
yes i like high speed trains but i cant remember which models they are. the ones i have seen usually travel from Penzance to London Paddington. They go through Dawlish, Teignmouth, Exeter St Davids, Tiverton Parkway etc up through Swindon, Didcot Parkway, Reading and then London Paddington. I think they are run by First Great Western Trains. They usually have eight carriages and two engines: one to push and one to pull.
Does anyone know which trains I mean? Hello to everyone from Exeter. Squeaky88 :) |
Hi Squeaky88, welcome to the forum, enjoy

The engines (usually known as power cars) are Class 43 and are now more than 25 years old. When they first appeared they were either known as Inter-City 125's because of their maximum service speed or just HST's because at the time they were the only High Speed Trains in use on British Rail. Some members of the forum have a real interest in these trains and will be able to give you more details if you wish. Here's a picture of one passing through Dawlish Warren 28 years ago:) Attachment 691 |
