Driving as shown in the clips on TV News should aytomatically lead to a charge of Dangerous Driving. I believe that conviction on this charge can lead to a prison sentance and a driving ban!

Best wishes,

John H-T.

This train was travelling very fast what a close shave.

Are the drivers of cars thinking they are being clever, or are they wanting a bit of excitement?

Foot passengers are the same, have they got a screw loose?

I would give car drivers a life sentence, if you can catch them?

How about having a system whereby automatic bollards installed, like the ones you see in limited access roads in town centres, these could be controlled by a Signal Box attached to a CCTV Camera as part of the Crossing Gates control. If a train is approaching, then the bollards would be raised and no traffic could get through, provisions would have to be made for the Emergency Services.

The madness goes on.......

Earlier today, a train was delayed because of an incident near Spondon (Derby).
Damage to crossing barriers meant driver had to proceed under caution.

I attended a meeting last night and on the way home, I was a couple of vehicles behind an ambulance approaching a level crossing when the lights and claxon came on, giving us all plenty of time to stop. The ambulance KEPT going and the barrier just missed the rear, as it descended, then they try to educate idiots NOT to go across. I WISH I had got my camera on the same vehicle, because I would have reported them for it, using the film as evidence. Without it, I can't prove it more's the pity.
