Hello Everybody

Hi,
New to the forums. I live in Vienne, France, about 10km east of the main line between Paris and Bordeaux. Not from the UK, but have always held a keen interest in the UK railscene.
RF is a great website - thank you all for having me along.

Thank You All

For the tremendous welcome - appreciated.

For DSY011 - a fair question. I am originally from New Zealand, and was immersed in the railway scene there in earlier years, but as a youngster I grew up with firstly Hornby clockwork trains, and later had a Triang electric model set, all based on UK railways of course. Since the mid-70s, I have done several trips to the UK (and lived there for two years in the early 80s), so my interest has become very much oriented towards the scene in the UK, both steam and heritage diesel locomotives. I subscribe to Railways Illustrated which keeps me abreast of things there, and this forum is a very welcome discovery for me too.

Best regards

Thanks for the info Jayar, as you can see from the flag, I'm from Botswana but was brought up in the Federation of Rhodesia and Nyasaland. Later to become Zambia, Malawi and Zimbabwe, but will always be Rhodesia to me.
