Hi from Devon...
My love of steam really began towards the end, around 1963, when I began at my grammar school near Clapham Junction. The school was situated at the point where the Brighton and Portsmouth lines diverged and much lunchtime trainspotting ensued.
Today's railways don't hold any interest for me and most preserved lines are a bit twee and polished for my taste but I hope to be able to share my memories with you. Andrew |
Hello and welcome to the forum Andrew. I'm sure that you'll enjoy the forum, and I look forward to hearing your memories of the glory days of steam.

Hello Andrew, welcome to the forum. Us older git on the forum love hearing about the old days. Even some of the young ones like the old days of steam when those new tin cans were just starting. If you have any photos of the old days please post then on the sites gallery. Don't worry if they are not up to today's standards. I hope the forum can reignite your interest in railways again.

Hello and welcome. I have not been here long but have been made very welcome. Preserved lines are only what the members make them, so you can always get involved and change the perception! ;) :D
