Hello Stationmasterwootton and a warm welcome to the forum, hope you enjoy. My wife and I are planning a visit to your lovely isle later this year, so hoping to enjoy a day out on the railway for sure.

Thanx ....They are extending the platform in Wootton by 15metres in readiness for a new engine they are restoring ....unfortunately it won't be ready to roll for another year or so....But IOW railway still has alot to offer

Hi Tony.... No it's the A1/X Class W11 Newport... they tend to name their restored engines after towns on the island...ie: Freshwater and Carisbrooke... hope that helps ... they are due to start running a service again on the 15th of this month , I will post some pics if you like
