Have always been interested in British Steam,doing all my spotting in the early to late sixties around North of England Crewe, got to Barry Scrapyard in 1970,never recovered from that really. Preservation movement in Britain is fantastic! I am a member of ELR and have just come down from riding behind the Duke and Cromwell double headed on Saturday last absolutely exhilarating!! we are so lucky.... Hello there,thank you for taking the trouble to welcome me, did you manage to get to the Great Garratt gathering at the Science and industry museum last year in Manchester? Fascinating machines they were built just around the corner from where I live!

I did go to WiganSB once with some mates 1968ish,memory a bit rusty though, similar to all the dead steam being towed to oblivion by those dirty diesels!! thanks for welcome. Mark
