Don't take action and management will walk all over the drivers impose unacceptable conditions.

i know the condidtions are bad and i can see why they are striking in one respect but not in another

the drivers should be greatful that they have a job at the mo because of the difficult time we r all going through

And if they didn't go on strike there would be job cuts anyway .

Railwaybuddy, please calm down. You ask the question have we heard about the undergrtound strike the get your pants in a twist when you get valid answers.

Yes we've heard and the answers you got tell you why they are occurring. If management keep trying it on what other alternative do staff have other than strike if no progress is made.

And by the way....

PLEASE DON'T SHOUT AT US ALL LIKE THAT! I may be hard of hearing but others ain't

Oh John...I so agree with you. Child benefit should be abolished and the money saved used for the upkeep of the children such as paying for kindergarten places, or school meals and school uniforms. That way the money is used for it's intended purpose and not fags and fings.

I don't mean to be patronising Daniel, but at your age the world (and all that's in it) looks a lot different than it does to us "oldies".

However, you will learn, and experience much as you go through life.:D

Hi Railwaybuddy I accept now & understand your comments as I didn't know your age if you want to understand my(&others) position may I suggest a little light:rolleyes: read.
You may be able to get these book from the library.
The Railwaymen: The History of the National Union of Railwaymen (London: Allen & Unwin, 1963
The Railwaymen, vol 2, The Beeching Era and After (London: Allen & Unwin, 1982)

This 2 volume history will explain the struggle railwaymen had to get decent working conditions.

My apologies to you then Daniel. You'll get a lot of wise advice and explanation from forum members [not me lad I'm a dumb old fart] But I am sure that if you need any specific questions answered in a simple way the lads and lassies will do that for you too
:p
