Last time I was in Cornwall we stayed at a caravan site near Eden, and one day walked into Luxulyan and had a meal/drink in the pub on the corner by the station. The station itself looked like it had seen "better" days.

My late wifes ex husband now lives at Foxhole, thats not far from you Michael ?

Foxhole just down the road Philip and yes Luxulyan is a bit of a dump.
In the summer i cycle to work to my bit for the environment it takes me about 50mins it is nearly all down hill and then catch the train back home to Roche.
But sometimes i cycle back on a saturday and have a couple of pints in the Kings Arms at Luxulyan.

I have always thought Ely could be better, but being a fair sized station in quite frankly wonderful surroundings it is a nice place to spend the day.
PS: the building at Norwich is beautiful. Possibly one of the best station fronts I have seen!
Look at this: http://en.structurae.de/files/photos...in_station.JPG

Great is it not?

Have you got the right link there, SFE? All I'm getting is a "Verboten" sign.

Yes I think there must be a copyright of that image. I think that one above works.

Yes, got it now SFE, thanks for that. Long time since I was there, 1987 for the depot open day. A glorious sunny summer day, brought me out in a rash!:o

As for a Closed station?
Bridport closed 1975
Bought a B&W print of the station from Truro Buffet around 1979, still got it framed in the house now!
Going to attempt to walk the remains of the branch to Maiden Newton later this year:D

That is quite a compliment but it does look striking and something I might expect to see in the South of France!

I haven't been to Norwich for 20 years but went to school there a few years before that. I spent many hours on the bank above the platforms peering across to the sheds - 32A if I remember rightly.

At that time the front area was all car park and the brick work was not in the good shape it is now.

Great Picture!
