I had use of the Ratty one at the Gateshead Garden Festival in 1989/1990, mainly as works shunter!

I do like NG15s and I'm looking forward to the restoration of one on the WHR.

Powerful and capable of long journeys without looking as ugly as the NGG/16s

How about this metre-gauge 2-10-2T?

Well if you want diesel, I'll go for the Soviet TU2 class

There are many wondeful locos to be seen.
DSY011 are any of that garratt class still in service?

DSY011 6th January 2010 19:38

I have not heard of any running on normal service since 2007. There has been some Garratt activity since then but not main line. The last I heard was that there were no trains running in Zimbabwe as they had no fuel for the Diesels, no power for the Electrics and no parts for the Steam locos. This is all second hand info so I can't guarantee it is correct.

For me it would have to be the K1. Not the most attractive shape for an engine but none the less very likeable.

Mmmmm let me see....

It has to be the fifteen Beyer, Peacock 2-4-0T's of the Isle of Man - but I am 101% biassed... hehehe :):):)
