Has a class 58 been preserved? If the preservation movement presereves a Class 60 it looks like they will have to preserve several to keep one going as spares could be limited.

I think there is a preserved 58 at Barrow Hill.

i totally agree, i was "still am" a big 56 fan. i have not had much time for EWS since they withdrew them, since they have started on the 60s that was the nail in the coffin. though i have nothing against the 66, give me a 60 or even better a 56 eny day. to me there is only one freight company and that DRS, they have proved that keeping old and new locos works. i wish they would buy some 56s. by the way the Dutch love there 58s.. ;)

58001, and she looks very smart sporting the original Railfreight livery too. :)

58001 is NOT preserved, its just painted nicley for an open day, its still on EWS's books, however, 58050 is designated as part of the national collection when, and only when EWS has finished with it, it is back from Europe however.
