Such tributes are a feature of todays media orientated society. Sure it's a tragedy when some young person is killed and it will impact hugely on the family probably for a very long time. However, the victim was doing something he knew he shouldn't and knew was dangerous. Yes, we all took a few risks when we were young and didn't always do exactly as we were told but the actions are selfish. There is no consideration for others in these cases. Some poor sod or some unfortunate business will be castigated, fined, imprisoned or whatever for not taking every possible measure no matter how ridiculous to prevent suicidally inclined individuals from entering dangerous situations. Will the "no win no pay" lawyer brigade now arrive on the scene to try to procure large settlements for the bereaved but mainly to line their own pockets?

I do agree. Why is it that people who die in tragic circumstances are always the most popular in their school, workplace, platoon etc., held in the highest regard by all who knew them, the life and soul of the party, on the verge of a brilliant career, etc., etc. Why do the less perfect never get taken in this way?

I went to a funeral recently (admittedly someone who died after an illness and in his 80's) but after the usual sort of tributes, the vicar said "of course, he was by no means perfect."

They are not really heroes. It is just encouraging more and more.
Bu saying this they could cause more tragedy.
And it is not the railways fault. Not trying to be disrespectful but it was their stupid offspring and not the innocent railway.

Sorry if i appear harsh, but i have no sympathy for these people, the way i see it is this "One less idiot to worry about"!!!.
It is about time the do goodie, guardian reading, tree hugging brigade got realistic.
No matter how hard you try too stop them, they come back for more!!!!
