Hi Mike,

Welcome to the Forum. Look forward to your posts especially about Saltley. I grew up in Birmingham in the 50's and 60's and spent a lot of time at New Street and Snow Hill Stations. Lived near the Camp Hill "Back Line".

Best wishes,

John H-T.

Camp Hill

Thanks again for the welcome everyone,
To John H-T,
The Camp Hill back line was where I learned how to fire! After progressing through the Shed Link, I was in Trip Link B. Usual starting place was Washwood heath sidings, then up to Kings Norton etc. I still have details of some of the workings so I`ll post them in the near future.

Hi Mike,
In one of my previous posts I have told of how I used to lie in bed at night as a kid, listening to Midland and LMS 0-6-0's struggling up from Brighton Road to Moseley at what sounded like a walking pace!

I have recently got a copy of the Middleton Press's book "Bromsgrove to Birmingham which includeds the Camp Hiill Route and has a good selection of photos of all the Stations on the Camp Hill Route. Sadly they had all gone long before my time!

Best wishes,

John H-T.
