Yes the spoil train doesn't run Wrong Road very far. It departs Foxton station on Position Light CA556 as far as another Position Light CA552, then crosses from the Down Cambridge to the Up Cambridge at 15mph on the way towards Shepreth station.

There is a SPAD risk here, as Shepreth starter signal CA110CA may be held at danger on a timer whilst the crossing gates go down. Because the driver has had two position lights it's not obvious if the next signal is red (other than a banner on the curve, but by then it's too late). If there had been main aspect signals rather than position lights, then the previous single yellow would have been a big reminder.

An RHTT did exactly this when turning round (from the down to the up road) a few years ago during leaf fall.

A trap for the unwary....but then that's what Route Knowledge is all about. :(
