Because the driver has had two position lights it's not obvious if the next signal is red (other than a banner on the curve, but by then it's too late). If there had been main aspect signals rather than position lights, then the previous single yellow would have been a big reminder. An RHTT did exactly this when turning round (from the down to the up road) a few years ago during leaf fall. A trap for the unwary....but then that's what Route Knowledge is all about. :( BW |
