Syd, Are you planning an "end to end" layout or are you going to incorporate the features of the Avon Valley Railway into a continuous circuit? Either way it certainly looks like it's got the makings of an interesting layout.

P.S. Do you think we should move this thread into the modelling forum?

John,
You are welcome to move this thread to the modelling forum. I should of started it there like my question on DCC. Not had any replies on that one yet so its just as well that I will not be starting the layout until I retire in 4 years 9 months, but then who's counting anyway?.
I have thought about making the layout in both end to end and loop but have not made up my mind yet as it will depend on where and what size house we get. Could be that I might have to have a shed, garage, loft or spare room. I will just have to wait and see. It has allowed me to start to get some track and rolling stock together. I can take advantage of the offers at model railway exhibitions for track and line side buildings.

Toton had a two tone green class 47 running with tops numbers, think it was 47265, around the mid to late 70's, maybe even later.

I got back into train spotting after being blown away by a Deltic at Grantham in 1974, and never saw another two tone green 47 but this one.
