I've been a responsible cyclist all my life and it makes my blood boil when I'm out cycling to see this sort of thing happen, its just more ammunition for that idiot Clarkeson to tar all cyclists with the same brush.

It just shows that level crossings like this one are not fool-proof. Half-barriers are not sufficient and pedestrian gates should interlock.
We all do stupid things from time to time and therefore there are many fools crossing railways and roads at any point in time..

I agree with you there philw but people are responsible for their own actions.

Even full barriers and a footbridge don't stop idiots

I see that the cyclist in the Waterbeach incident has now come forward and been interviewed by British Transport Police, who are wondering what action to take against her. A bit of a dilemma I suppose - what action do you take against a moron like that?

ANY person caught acting in this utterly STUPID way should be prosecuted Big Time, and NO arguments. Red means STOP, and so she should have obeyed the law. In my eyes, people like this are totally ignorant of the train drivers feelings, as well as any witnesses to their actions.

Being stupid is not against the law.
If it was.....................!!!!!!

I agree with bramleyman red means stop for a bike aswell as a 44 ton HGV, if you're a road user the same rules apply to all.
