as has been said on here and elsewhere most people have no intention of paying for the subscription to Railway Herald.
So why is it that they continue to post in numerous threads about further details that you need to pay the subscription to read?

Is this a case of a commercial business touting for business?
Should their registration on this site be removed?

Firstly - sorry to have caused offence to any forum members - we have been open and honest from the outset in that we are keen to hear feedback from readers of Railway Herald - we dont have a forum on our website, and RAILWAYFORUM.NET was the obvious choice to start a discussion with railway enthusiasts. Many thanks for your comments.

Pardon the cynical side of me for thinking

that subscriptions are down
that you are trying to test the water to see whether you ought to have a forum on the RH

I used to enjoy the magazine as it was by the readers for the readers

Whatever our feelings about charging for Railway Herald the fact remains that it is widely read and respected within in the enthusiast comunity. We need to separate the issue of charging from the content which is generally of a high standard.

Best wishes,

John H-T.

A very warm welcome to the forum.

Nice 'magazine'.

As I said in the past, it has to be costly to produce such a good, informative magazine, and the fact we enjoyed it free for so long has made us a bit sour at having to pay for it! Personally I don’t have a problem with that, if you want a good read then buy it and fund the hard work and dedication these guys have put into it for our benefit! So come on guys be a little more forgiving, as all good things have a value, and be happy we had it free for so long!
All the very best
Phil

I wasn't sure what to do when you decided to start charging for it but I subscribed. Just renewed for a second year. Still enjoy the magazine.
