Signalboxes around Seaham- Durham Coast

Anyone know when the Signal boxes in the Seaham area were demolished? I was there over Christmas and was suprised that they had gone!! I hope some equipment was saved!

Best regards

Hello jonty14,
As luck would or would not have it i was reading an article in The Rail Engineer magazine last night an it seams Network Rail have been Re-signalling the line on the quiet an now all redundant boxes either have been or are beeing demolished. The article never said weather any of the old equipment was saved or not but i recon they probably sent most of the iron outta the boxes fer scrap shame that but thats how Network Rail are these days.
