Watercress Line Fire

The owners of a steam railway attraction have been counting the cost of a fire which destroyed two carriages and a tender for a steam locomotive

Shame about the fire Syd but I suppose they are insured against fire. More importantly it's good to see no one was injured.

Was at Ropley on Friday 30th, and was told the fire to the new shed which was assisted by the National Lottery occurred on the Monday evening of 26th, and destroyed two carriages, a diesel shunting engine, and the tender for a steam locomotive U class, I noticed the country end section roof had collapsed, did not take any photos as I did not think it appropriate, also understand that 60019 Bittern no longer attached to Ropley shed but located at Southall, costing to much to access the the Main Line at Alton
