Mayflower to undertake main line test run

LNER 'B1' 4-6-0 No. 61306 Mayflower returned to the main line, briefly on 30th April, before heading north to Carnforth the following day.

After departing from Washwood Heath on 30th April, the locomotive is reported to have developed a broken spring at Walsall, resulting in the onward movement being cancelled, and rearranged for 1st May.

Having moved north to Carnforth, the locomotive is now expected to undertake its loaded main line test run on 2nd May around the Carnforth Circle, before heading over to the North Yorkshire Moors Railway for its forthcoming 40th anniversary gala event.
