Hi,

The class 47s at Wensledyale Railway are owned by two seperate groups. 47703 is a HNRC machine and is stored at the railway (since Dec. 07). This machine was used on Sunday the 4th January with the kind permission of Harry Needle.

47715 is privately owned by a group of Wensleydale Railway members and is based at the railway. Since its arrival in Dec. 2007 it has been used for works trains, stock moves, DMU replacement, charter specials, diesel gala and other special events.

Both locomotives are set to stay at the railway for the forseeable future but Harry Needel will ultimately decide when 47703 is removed possibley for overhaul to return it to main-line condition.

At present both locomotives may be called upon to haul ballast and engineers trains during the engineering shut-down between 4th January and 1st April.

The event held on the 4th of January was organised by the Wensleydale Diesel Traction Group who's website can be found here:

http://www.wensleydaledtg.co.uk

The group has also established a fotopic site on the following address to record all locomotive hauled services on the line in a pictorial format

http://www.wensleydaledtg.fotopic.net

Please do not hesitate to contact me for further information,
All The Best,
Jonathon
