Until I saw this photo in the gallery

I did not know that there were ever any diesels at Barry scrapyard.

Were there many ?

Four diesel locos were sent to Woodham’s.
BR Class 41 (D600 Warship) D600 Active and D601 Ark Royal.
BR Class 21 D6122 and BR Class 15 D8206.
None survived, with D600 and D8206 succumbing to the cutter’s torch in 1970 and D6122 and D601 in 1980.

Maybe a silly question but why does the loco appear to have the number D6121 at the far end (right hand side)?

It is a topic of much discussion, but the thought is that at some point when both D6121 and D6122 were in Scotland there was a cab swap.

So they finished up in Scotland having two locos both with the numbers D6121 & D6122 at opposite ends? I think there must have been some very mystified Scots!

Quite possible. There is an extensive thread on RMweb on this subject if you are interested.
