Florence, Italy-Paris, France (1880) Routes

I know this was a great transitional time for both France and Italy, yet long range passenger train travel was becoming immensely popular, especially among the upper class. I'm looking for a historical route during the winter months. The southernly route along the Mediterranean, looks fragmented on Wiki maps. Can anyone help me with this search? I'd greatly appreciate accurate information! Phantom
