Hi John, welcome.
Two things - one, the name of your town - Gouburn? Very similar to the name of my town, Golborne. In fact when you say "Golborne" with a local accent, that's what you get, "Gouburn". It just struck me as funny that's all.... The other thing - my cousin, who was over here a few weeks ago, is also a freight train driver in South Australia, Perth, so nowhere near you. He drives narrow gauge stock like the pic attached, although he wasn't driving this, luckily. Welcome to the forum anyway! |

G,day mate I was over in oz couple of years ago and went to a museum whos name escapes me at present and came a cross a Garratt and was told ther was not a lot of hope in it ever steasming again.What a sad loss when they cut them all up here.I was staying in caboolture with an old buddy so it was somewhere around Brisbane I think.Im retired and so has my memory I reckon.
