Cable theft disrupts Metro route (BBC News)

A section of the Tyne and Wear Metro system is suspended after thieves steal cable from the railway line.

The Metro was suspended the other day with regular clear announcements telling people that there were no Metro's between Stadium of Light and Pelaw due to 'an incident of vandalism. There were also clear signage at Central Station however I overheard a group of Charver Women kicking off with the words "hahaha what kind of vandalism stops the metro" and "thats a f**cking stupid excuse".......!
