Manchester stations
Hi. Im looking to visit the Manchester area to do some spotting and photting of units next Thurs or Fri. Is Picadilly the best station to go to? Are you allowed to take pictures on the station or do you need permission? Has anyone any suggestions of best/busiest/other places to go? Thanks in advance

Both Piccadilli and Victoria are open for enthusiasts, the only restriction being no flash photgraphy. Piccadilli platforms 6 and 13 are favourites for photographers, bins will help if you are spotting. Access to Victoria platforms is by a ticket collector controlled entrance and if you say you are spotting/photographing trains they will let you through. Turn right along platform 3 to near the end for a good view of bay platforms and Metro trams. Bins are essential because many trains reverse in all platforms away from you.
