The Fellsman and CME.

Both "The Fellman" and "The Cumbrian Mountain Express" are cancelled this year due to the ongoing problems on the Settle-Carlisle line landslide.

I've noticed a series of Carnforth-Scarborough 'Scarborough Spa Express' trains though the summer - a replacement for the S&C runs?

No Tony, the Scarborough Spa usually runs as well.

It is thin pickings for main line steam at the moment, however, a bit of good new is that the CMEs are still running this summer with a revised schedule of out via Shap, return via Cumbrian coast.

Having looked on UK Steam info I see the CME are still showing return via S&C whilst I believe some are going to traverse the Cumbrian Coast, the traction will be very limited though as Network Rail has banned as out of gauge some of the available locomotives.
Hope we do get some steam back soon, as whilst I occasionally photograph diesels, I find units boring, probably as I worked on them too long.

Steam on the S & C was what made my trips to see the mother in law in Bradford worthwhile.

I'm missing the trips to Hellifield to see steam in action on the main line.

Fortunately no.

My partner (her daughter) is a steam enthusiast as well.

You may still be skating on thin ice if your partner reads the Forum
