It is a shame that nothing was said on the 6o'clock news today.

What a shame a good story wasn't covered by the T.V. It shows that there is always room for the older technology in this Hi-tech world . This was a great opportunity missed.

It seems a lot of the steam tours are suffering with no bums on seats and the Tornado trips are a little more expensive.I do a lot of these trips and this time of year have children and grandchildren to get gifts for so have to cut the cloth so to speak but next year I will be a bum on a seat along with my buddies bums. All the best John

Steam Train Rescue

Just to let you know it was me that broke this story to Radio Kent. I was on the train with my little boy as a treat for him (me!)
I was interviewed on the John Warnet show yesterday morning at about 9.12 am uk time. The show can probably be accessed on bbc iplayer or the radio kent website

Well done "flatfish" for breaking the story, hope the little chap (and you)enjoyed it.

With regards to not being mentioned on the main BBC news, I suppose it was not actually important enough for them, no politicians involved !
Dont know about Sky though.

Messrs Bunker and Allatt were interviewed at some length on Radio 5 in the earlier hours of the morning a few hours ago. They mentioned this little triumph

My dad told me about the steam train rescue that evening and I thought he said that he had seen it on the TV? He lives in Norfolk so he wont be listening to Radio from Kent. He also thought it was something to do with rescuing the Eurostar trains as he didnt hear the full story, clearly not a St.Pancras train as I dont think they like steam on that line!!
