37408- the sole survivor

Latew last night, I stumbled across a picture of 37408 in Large Logo livery, dated 1994. Using Fotopic, I've come up with three pictures which show it lasted in this condition till after Christmas 1998. Personally, I reckon that's quite an achevement.

Thumbs up

I love 37s. To me they're the absolute embodiment of what a diesel loco should be - chunky and mean sounding.

I hope that one day, if I'm very very good, I'll manage to blag the opportunity to drive one on the mainline.

Warrington seems to be "the place" for 37's at the moment.

Knowing my luck, if I did they'd stick me 66s all day.

It is sad that 37408 was damaged in the shunt at the end of 2005 (I think) It would have been great to see it preserved.
