Sittingbourne & Kemsley Light Railway to remain closed until further notice

We very much regret that due to the very recent discovery of hazardous materials in premises adjacent to the Railway we have been told that we are unable to operate trains until further notice.

We are just as upset as we expect you are at this situation and are doing our utmost to start running trains as soon as we can.

Please check our website for details at www.sklr.net

I too have read the story in SR. Very sad for you all at the railway and I hope you manage to ride the storm! Does anyone know just what the "Hazardous Contamination" is? No mention of that!
Anyway all the very best and hope you get back up and running soon!
Cheers
Phil

"hazardous materials in premises adjacent to the Railway".
Oh, where would we be without Health & Safety to keep us all safe? I often wonder how we got through WW2 without them.

Times gone by

UNFORTUNATELY THERE ARE VERY REAL 'TIME BOMBS' JUST BENEATH THE SURFACE OF A LOT OF INDUSTRIAL SITES AND ONCE DISCOVERED, THE OWNER/TAX PAYER HAS TO FORK OUT A FORTUNE TO EITHER SHIFT IT OR MAKE IT SAFE. OUR FORE FATHERS DIDNT USED TO BAT AN EYELID WHEN IT CAME TO DIGGING HOLES AND BURYING SOME PRETTY UNPLEASANT STUFF IN TIMES GONE BY AND MOST OF THEM ARE NO LONGER AROUND TO SPILL THE BEANS TO DECLARE WHAT THEY PUT WHERE? TRY WORKING AT THE GUNPOWDER MILLS
