Diesel Types ?

Being primarily a steam man, I get confused with all the different types of diesel locos !

I've now found a book "British Rail Main Line Diesel Locomotives" which explains each type in good detail with lots of piccies, so now I can understand what you are all talking about.

It is not quite up to date with the latest offerings but will do for now.

Philip.

Hee Hee ! Wondered why I needed glasses.

My bedtime reading varies between Steam magazine, How to build valve amplifiers and currently North British Atlantics.

Now there is a fine locomotive! Very sadly the last one was cut up as part of the war effort even though it had been earmarked for preservation.

Best wishes,
