Sorry to disappoint you, but 153's WERE converted from 155's - if you don't believe me, check out the vehicle numbers and compare with those numbers of 155's before they were converted. All the series of 156's are intact, none converted. Some 155's are still running AS 155's, incidentally.

From "British Railways Locomotives and Coaching Stock 2008", otherise known as the Platform 5 Combined: page 223, CLASS 153 SUPER SPRINTER LEYLAND BUS
then a sub-heading DMSL Converted by Hunslet-Barclay, Kilmarnock from Class 155 2-Car Units. Hope this sorts it. Regards, 62440. |

The FGW Cheltenham to Southampton service (via Gloucester - reverse, Swindon - reverse, Melksham, Westbury & Salisbury) is usually a 153. Oddly, although it gets busy, it doesn't stay busy for the whole trip; most passengers travel between Gloucester and Swindon. Rather have a loco though!
