It used to be called Bispham if you are searching the internet.

And its supposed to be haunted, the ghost of a pointsman

Pointsman.

Location: Bispham (Lancashire) - Rail tracks
Type: Haunting Manifestation
Date / Time: Weather Dependent: Stormy nights
Further Comments: Swinging his lantern, this ghostly lone figure walks slowly along the tracks.

Hi Royal Scot,
The book "Railways of Blackpool and the Fylde" by Barry McLoughlin published by Silver Link books; ISBN 1 85794 124 1, has quite a lot about Layton station with several photos both old and recent.
