Lime Street Station Liverpool

Hello everyone,
My name is Peter and I am a new member of this great forum,
I hope to make a scale model of Lime Strret Station and I have been trying to get hold of any photographs of steam trains on the turntable at Liverpool Lime Street Station from the 1940's untill the end of steam, or just some photographs of the turntable on its own, I do know that there have been 4 turntables at Lime Street over the years, there must be some about somewhere, also any photograpghs of any steam trains around the Merseyside area,
I hope someone can help me,
Regards,
Peter.

Hi Peter,

Welcome to the Forum.

I have memories of Liverpool Lime Street as a child in the late 40's and early 50's. Unfortunately no details or photographs.

Best wishes,

John H-T.

Hello Peter and welcome to the forum.
I will continue to look through my books and let you know if I find anything but because of its overall roof and close proximity to the tunnels Lime Street was often neglected by photographers. In steam days most pictures were taken in and around Edge Hill where it starts to open up a bit.

Welcome to the forum Peter.
I know that Eric Treacy's books have a number of photographs of the tunnels in steam days.
Good luck with the project.
Paul.
