Hello Lorne and welcome to the Railway Forum. I have crossed the Victoria Falls many times as a fireman stationed at Thompson Junction. We used to work the train to Livingstone and back. I was then transferred to Dett and worked through the Game Reserve. I fired and drove all the Garratt's apart from the 16th class Garratt. All the Garratt's had brass number plates in my days on the Rhodesia Railways.
I also remember the trolleys that were pushed from the Falls hotel down to the bridge, and learning to swim in the hotel swimming pool when I was about 4 years old.
