Hello from Doncaster.

Obviously coming from Doncaster, a major rail centre, I'm going to be interested in the railways...although not particularly trains. My main areas of interest are stations and infrastructure, services, railway architecture and archaeology ,and walking...sometimes along old railway tracks.

I've just joined the forum and so look forward to having a look around.

Hi Lee, welcome aboard.

Are you taking an interest in the new flyover due to start construction next year around the Joan Croft crossing area ?

Yes I am; there is a lot of discussion about road traffic access to the construction site - everyone agrees that building the chord is a good idea though.

I can see that access would be a problem. I go to Owston twice a year (this weekend is next one) and I take the opportunity to go via Barnetby and then stop off at Joan Croft for a quick look.

Welcome to the forum Lee and, as someone with an interest in stations etc myself, I look forward to your posts. As for walking old railway lines, you may be interested in joining Railway Ramblers if you're not already a member?
