New vapour-sensing system to catch graffiti vandals - Sydney

It is good that technology in railways developing day by day.In Sydney railways introducing vapour -sensors of the device are triggered, an alarm is sent to the Police Transport Command (PTC) and Sydney Trains control staff who can view live CCTV recordings to intercept the criminals. In the last financial year, the government has spent $34m in removing graffiti from the Sydney Trains network, which is an increase from $30m the year before.

What on earth is a "Live Recording"? (Other than a total contradiction of terms!)

Thankyou for that. This sort of mangled gobbledy-gook technobabble gets on my wick also. Perhaps it's the opposite of programmes that are 'recorded live' ? Urrrgh.
