Two arrests over bin hit by train (BBC News)

Two people are arrested after a wheelie bin left on rail tracks in Hampshire became lodged under a train.

If these idiots were made to pay the true costs of delays it may send some shock waves amongst others tempted to do the same thing.

wheelie bins

I'm not trying to condone what these stupid men did but maybe leaving wheelie bins unattended is not a good idea in this day and age.
Of course years ago when railway barrows were left unattended on platforms that was ok as people knew how to behave themselves in those far off days.

I hit a wheelie bin on Yarm Viaduct once. There wasn't much left of it afterwards.
