Talking Interpreters

Hello,
I have just joined the Forum.

For many years I have been searching unsuccessfully for information in connection with my ancestor Oscar Charles Dietrich.

According to his children's Birth Certificates his occupation is given as "Interpreter on Great Eastern Railway. Has anyone ever heard of this and where would his employment record be, as I say that I pray not at Kew. He lived in Dalston Hackney and was in close proximity to several local stations. I would also like to know whether he would have worked within a Railway Station, or on a train.

Any advice or information would be so welcome.

You are far more likely to receive an answer from the railway historians on the LNER email group at Yahoo.
