Class 86/7

Hi Folks,

For the past two days there have been a pair of Class 86s outside LNWR, Crewe in red & silver livery numbered 86701 and 86702. With names something like "Electric Trains".

Can anyone tell me anything more about them ?

I don't think they are ones that are going to Bulgaria as they were in quite differwnt liveries.

All the best

Martin

Hi there Midland Compound. To give you the bare bones of an item in the current Railway Magazine (page 74 if you're near a bookstall for a quick read), Electric Traction Limited has completed it's first pair of Class 86's to be offered to the Uk spot-hire market. 86205 & 86260 have both been given major exams at Long Marston workshops and re-numbered 86701 & 86702 and named Orion & Cassiopeia. There's a lot more which I can't condense very easily, but they are intended for use in Britain. Hope this helps. Cheers, 62440

Thanks. I'll check the magazine shelf at Smiths !

Are Electric Traction connected with Virgin at all, because the livery is similar ?
