I have a kit of the GWR rebuild of the Liskard and Looe 2-4-0T waiting to be built as a first venture into metal loco building. However I am spending more time working at 12 inches to the foot at the moemnet, with Ferrybridge No. 3 sorting out the last few niggles before the boiler man arrives to hopefully sign her off. I have been at Wirksworth 7 out of the last 10 days!

It would be good to have a thread on kit building and the pit falls there.

I think people fight shy of kits as they are quite expensive, more than RTR once you have bought all the bits. Peole lack the confidence to have a go because they are afraid of making a "pig ear" of it.

I know what you mean about the feel of a metal bodied loco.

Best wishes,

John H-T.
